A small zoo

I used to have 3 cats and a dog when I was a kid. I guess the cat I was most attached to was my first cat. I was 11 years old, something like that.

He lived with me and my family, his name was Punto Wrüstel the first. I was a kid and I gave him this weird name. He was a ginger cat with blue eyes, he was very beautiful and very intelligent. At home I was with him all the time, he was my best friend, and he would sleep beside me in bed.

Sometimes he climbed the tree in my garden and he would get stuck. Because he didn't dare to climb down again. I had to climb the tree to get him back. When I was a small my dream was to have a little zoo, with birds, all sorts. I had ducks, like the ones you see in the Seine.

At the beach

Nowadays I live in Paris with just Perseo, and it's already a lot of work. We do everything together, but his favourite thing is traveling. He senses the departure very quickly because I have to take his travel bag out of the cupboard he likes to sneak in.

What he loves most of all is the beach. His dream must be to live on the beach, to play with the sand and the waves. One of my best memories is in Fregene, where I saw him running and playing like crazy. He thought he could eat the waves. In Paris it's different, sometimes we go to the Bois de Vincennes or the quays, but it's less obvious.

In cold weather

Perseo hates to be alone, so when I can't take him with me I bring him to the caretaker of my building. He gets along well with other dogs, he's not afraid, he's quite confident. He has a small wardrobe because he is always cold. All greyhounds do not have an undercoat, so they get chilly. I managed to find a brand of clothes with black and blue striped jumpsuits that I put on him in winter. He is so cold that he doesn't want to leave the house in the winter. He hides under the sofas or in the bed when he sees that I'm about to go outside. Perseo is like a lizard who follows the sun's rays around the house.

To bed!

We sleep together with Perseo, we must. He doesn't like it when someone else sleeps with me, because he's jealous. When I have friends over for dinner, after 11:30/ midnight, which is when he usually goes to bed, Perseo starts to make it clear that it's time for him to go to bed and thus for the guests to leave. He barks when we make too much noise as if to say "basta" I'm going to sleep.

Thankfully, in the morning he doesn't wake me up until the alarm goes off.
